Do you have to remove my headlights in order to clean them? No, we do not have to remove your headlights from the vehicle.

Why can´t I just use a regular glass cleaner to clean them? Cleaners cannot reverse the chemical process that causes the plastic lens to deteriorate. Some cleaners do more harm than good because they contain ammonia or solvents which may advance the deterioration and yellowing/clouding process of plastic lenses. While it might clean them for the moment, it doesn’t last long.

Are there specific makes or models that are affected? No. In the late 1980's the U.S. Government began requiring all automotive manufacturers to replace glass headlamps with polycarbonate (plastic) assemblies. Today, almost all cars and trucks on the road are equipped with plastic headlamp assemblies. Our restoration is done only to vehicles with plastic headlamp assemblies.
